Bag a sweet bargain and stock up for Christmas with our saving tips

THERE are 100 days until Christmas — too soon to put up your stocking, but the perfect time for stocking up.

Certain treats have a long shelf-life, so keeping an eye out for offers and grabbing them now can save on spending more nearer the time. Here are some of my best bargains to bag now and stash away for December.

TIN A JIFFY: It’s not Christmas without a cheeky tin of chocolates — and there are already some great selections available in supermarkets.

I love Lindt. You can currently grab a 400g tin for £10 from Tesco and Sainsbury’s, compared to £15 on the Lindt Lindor website.

At Tesco, you can also bag tins of Roses, Heroes, Celebrations and Quality Street for just £4, usually £5 at Sainsbury’s.

FESTIVE FAVES: Grab some Christmas classics now and stash for small festive gifts or stocking fillers later.

I am a huge fan of Terry’s Chocolate Orange. You can nab the white chocolate version from Morrisons for £2.

TIPPLE TOT UP: December is party season, so look out for bargain booze in the stores from now. There are currently some fab flavoured tipples at decent prices.

Aldi has launched a festive-friendly shimmery honeycomb-flavour gin, perfect for sipping nearer the season.

The 70cl bottle costs £14.99 and is available online and in stores. It’s far cheaper than similar Keepr’s Honey Gin at £35.75 — which also doesn’t have the festive bonus of being sparkly.

FREEZER FILLERS: If you’ve got the freezer space, then frozen bargains are a great a way to go.

When it comes to frozen puddings, I am a big fan of the limited edition Iceland luxury Irish cream and butterscotch roulade, £4.

The purse-friendly tasty treat serves six and won’t be around for long — but you can stash it now and enjoy later.
